    Hello everyone,
I am a newbie with minor experience with speaker design from Orange County SoCal. Two years ago I purchased a pair of Altec 604E's. I made an OB design with fixed wings and sounded wobbly mainly b/c the crossover was shot, on both of them.

New plan is to redesign the crossover per Jeff Markwart and maybe hinge the wings for my baffle. I thought the top piece had to cover the whole top and not just 6-8" wide.

    Any recommendations will be welcome.

I would love listen to other's OB's in the area.

    thanks

    CONGRATULATIONS
    You will love your 604Es.
I suggest you fix your N1500 XOs. I think Jeff has a schematic for them , check his site.
You may only need to replace the paper caps ( 14 uFd /200 Volts ). The rest of the parts are probably OK.

Thanks for the recommendation. Everything was ok except for the wire wound parts. it's not quite a potentiometer and I guess it's alot cheaper to replace that part than building a whole new crossover which will cost $400-$500. The wire wound part is very hard to find but it should be well below $100.
